To meet this mission, KidsGive developed an interesting and unique concept that directly brings the child into the actual process of giving to, and understanding the development of, children’s humanitarian projects around the world. By directly tying together the purchase of the product branded as Karito Kids™ with the support of children’s charities, KidsGive will teach a generation of children at a young age what charitable giving really means.
Determined to identify the ideal first product to align with the KidsGive mission, the founders created a product line that will help children connect with and better understand other children around the world. The initial products are dolls and books, launching with five characters that represent girls around the world – Wan Ling, Lulu, Zoe, Gia and Pita – who come to life through beautifully made 21-inch dolls, fun adventure books and a whole range of interchangeable clothing and accessories.
The 11-year-old girls characterize a modern way of life in each country and culture, providing today’s views of fashion, events, and values that shape each generation and raise global awareness along the way. Through the purchase of each Karito Kids product a percentage of sales will be donated to Plan USA, a worldwide children’s charity. By entering a unique code (found on every product) on the company website, children will be able to select the charitable cause to which the donation will be directed.
A note from Gia:
You wouldn’t believe all the excitement at our little pensione in Florence, Italy. A dream came true for me as a future fashion diva: One of the greatest designers of all time was staying at our inn. Well, it was a dream… until it became a nightmare. The beautiful shoes created by the famous Franco del Sarto couldn’t be found and he was blaming me for stealing them! It took me and my American friend, who loves fashion as much as I do, to fearlessly fix this fashion fiasco.
Ciao (this means goodbye in Italian)
Gia
